Don’t you find it incredible, people who’ve endured great pain yet remain hopeful and resilient?
There is a wisdom that comes from people who’ve faced tragedy yet have chosen to forgive those who’ve hurt them, refuse to be bitter, and against the odds, overcome the obstacles of life. I thought of this recently as I’ve talked with friends who have been abandoned by a parent or lost one far too young,. In either case they’ve earned a wisdom for choosing joy through dark days.
These friends, I realize, have a perspective on life that others don’t find until hard days really come along. They value the important things in life and waste little time on the frivolous. I”m humbled by their outlook and thankful for the friendship.
