Sometimes you can look back at your life and see how you jumped one hurdle after the other. You’ve finished one crazy race only to enter another one where you feel like it’s never ending stress. Whether it’s work, family, or another issue it can seem as though no finish line is in sight. When I struggle with this and reflect back I often ask myself, “can this girl get a break? If I don’t I feel as though I might snap!” As this scenario recently ran through my head and kept my mind running in circles trying to consider how I would overcome my set of hurdles I was reminded of Isaiah 40:11 which reads, “He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart.” This simple verse calmed my racing heart and reminded me who I trust at all times. My needed break is found snug in the Shepherd’s arms. We need a break and as far as I can tell the only solace offered that will truly give us the courage to carry on is found in the Shepherd. I understand this is a simple thought but a solid one that with confidence and gumption face the hurdles ahead.
