Today marks 3 weeks since we’ve been home from Uganda and I’m beyond grateful to be home. While it can be hard adjusting after being gone for so long we are welcomed by a short season of rest before heading back to work. Jericho has navigated all the changes like a champ and I can hardly believe it’s all over. His resilient spirit and curious personality have made for a fun few weeks.
While we have been through quite a bit and are just now finding our stride I’m reminded how good God is whether it be a season of pain, strife, or ease. He is everything. He is good in both barren times and times of harvest.
This past season of struggle has invited pain to thicken the plot on numerous occasions but not without Jesus as the leading role to heal, guide, and be a giver of life and peace. “C.S. Lewis said, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” The pain that God allowed was meaningful and spoke to the depth of my being more than the busyness of my everyday life. I don’t despise it and I know he is working, he is always working.
In all things, Jesus is good. Remember this truth in the light of the joyous day and the dark of a painful night.
